Some of you may know that I am in the process of changing my career. Not because I do not love homeopathy, I do, but it is through homeopathy that I have learnt that there is something beyond that, that I would like to be involved with. Better than to cure disease is to teach people how they can prevent it in the first place. . Unfortunately this prevention is never taught to doctors in medical school. They are only taught how to fight disease. I believe it is so important that it should be taught in schools. Instead of studying certain subjects that never come into use to many of us, there should be health and ecological education and teaching of communication skills that many of us desperately need but do not have.
In the near future I hope to start a project called SHARAN near Mumbai. SHARAN stands for ‘Sanctuary for Health and Reconnection to Animals and Nature’. I have learnt through homeopathy that the whole is important. In nature too it is the same. In fact a good test to check whether something is good for us will be to see its effect on the environment and animals. For example pesticides were once considered a boon to help provide the food needs of man. Yet our test would have pronounced them otherwise. This test can be used for mobile phones, for sonar or for anything else. The same is true about our diet. In order to prepare myself for this new project, I did a month long internship at 'Farm Sanctuary in upstate New York in June 2004. I would like to share these experiences with you. If you are interested you can read more about this place at www.farmsanctuary.org
SHARAN’s website has begun but is not yet completed – you can have a peak at www.sharan-india.org.
